Bro. Rafael Matos
Name: Rafael Matos Initiated: Spring '99
Bro. Matos is a New Yorker by birth but a a proud Trojan and a True Sigma Man. Rafael reactivated the Nu Upsilon Chapter at USC in Spring 1999. He now serves as the graduate advisor to the chapter and is also the Western Regional Secretary. After receiving both his undergrad and double masters degrees from SC, Rafael now serves as the Residential Director at Whittier College.
Bro. Christopher Washington
Name: Chris Washington alias "THIZZ FACE!" Age:20 Major: Business Administration/Cinema-Television Initiated: Fall 2005 Graduation Date: June 2008
Currently a Junior at the University of Southern California, Chris has shows himself as a true Sigma-man by epitomizing the principles of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. After joining in Fall of 2005, Chris held the position of chapter secretary, and has since stepped up to oversee the chapter as the chapter president.
Along with the fraternity, Chris is employed as a Resident Advisor by the Office of Residential Education at USC. He is an active member of the NPHC, the Black Student Assembly, and 100 Black Men of USC. Through these and the fraternity, Chris gives back to those around him with his undying heart for community service.
Currently recognized as the sexiest Sigma in Southern California, Chris continues to represent the fraternity in the most positive light at USC, throughout california, and across the nation.
Bro. Christopher McIntosh
Bro. Christopher McIntosh Initiated: Fall 2005 Major: Architecture
Chris, is known to many as HYPHEE, is originally from the Bay Area. While at SC, Chris represented Sigma in a variety of community service projects including SC AIDS walk and Cancer Walk. Recently, Bro. McIntosh moved to Florida but we know that he is still a Trojan Sigma Man at heart.
Bro. Jay L. Armant, Jr.
Name: Jay Armant Age:21 Major: Music History Initiated: Summer 2004 Graduation Date: June 2008
Jay Armant is actually a student at the campus of UCLA, although he is very active on the campus of USC in the form of programming for the chapter. He is currently the Vice President of the Nu Upsilon chapter. He has been a participant in the community as a member of the UCLA African Student Union, and various other student groups.
Currently, Jay has an internet radio show at UCLA, and plays in the band Wylde Bunch (who's music you can listen to on this very website).
Although his father is also a brother in Sigma, Jay's reason for joining Sigma is not only the fact that he is a legacy member, but also because of the lifelong bond with the brothers in his chapter as well as those in the Southern California area. Through Sigma, Jay has committeed himself to lending a helping hand to our underprivileged urban areas.
Jay Lamont Armant Jr. Phi Beta Sigma Untouchable Nu Upsilon Chapter Vice President
Bro. Theo Fowles
Name: Theo Fowles Age:24 Major: Cinema Television: Critical Studies Initiated: Spring 2003 Graduation Date: May 2005
Theo Fowles was an active member of the USC campus before joining the men of Sigma. He was a member of the Trojan Marching Band, a Norman Topping Scholar and Governing Board Member, and a USC Ambassador. During his time "on the yard" he was named Southern California's Brother of the Year.
Currently, Theo is teaching high school English in the Bronx, NY as a Teach For America Corps Member.
Theo enjoys coming back to campus to support Nu Upsilon in anyway possible. "The reason I joined Sigma is because we are individuals. No one in Sigma is the same, but when we come together we affect the entire community around us."
